Sindh Governor House opened for public

KARACHI: In keeping with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s promise to put the huge Governor Houses of the country to good use, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on Friday opened the doors of the Governor House here to public.

The governor met with the families who visited the Governor House and planted saplings this morning. Speaking on the occasion, he said the house was a public property so people have a right to see it.

He said a system would be introduced in order to facilitate the people visiting the building.

The Sindh Governor House has the office of founder of the nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other historic articles associated with him.

Visitors are being allowed to ether the building from Gate No.1 after depositing their identity cards.

Earlier, the governor had said educational tours would be conducted to show schoolchildren the articles used by the Quaid-e-Azam.

Besides, he said, there will be guided tours to allow visitors to see the historic building, office, rooms, chairs and other items of historic significance.
