Over 70,000 farmers from Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other parts of North India are on a protest march from Haridwar’s Baba Tikait Ghat.

NEW DELHI: Police personnel fire tear gas shells, use water cannons on thousands of protesting farmers as they try entering the national capital Delhi by breaking barricades.

Over 70,000 farmers from Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other parts of North India are on a protest march from Haridwar’s Baba Tikait Ghat.

Visuals from Uttar Pradesh-Delhi border where farmers have been stopped during the Kisan Kranti Yatra. The ‘Kisan Kranti Padyatra’ has been organized by farmers under the banner of Bharatiya Kisan Union.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “The farmers should be allowed to enter New Delhi. Why are they not being allowed to enter Delhi? This is wrong. We are with the farmers.”
