
SUKKUR: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad inaugurated two new passenger train services on Tuesday morning.
According to details, the minister inaugurated the Mohenjo-Daro and Rohi Express passenger trains. The Mohenjo-Daro passenger train will be running between Sukkur and Kotri via Larkana route while Rohi Express would be chugging from Rohri to Khanpur.
Talking to media on the occasion, Sheikh Rashid said the government is committed to eliminating corruption from Pakistan Railways.
He said more than 31 railway stations are being upgraded across the country, adding that the PTI government will have to deliver in 100 days.
Last month, Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated two new trains in a ceremony at Prime Minister Secretariat here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, the PM congraturated Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed for his efforts for the betterment of the department and initiation of new projects for common passengers.
The PM also vowed to bring the latest technology to the department which facilitates thousands of passengers everyday.
“I will visit China and take you (Sheikh Rasheed) along with me so that we can learn from their experience in railways to better our position,” said Imran Khan.
