
KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday sought a copy of the Supreme Court decision about VVIPs security while hearing a case about security of People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The bench while hearing the case remarked that the apex court had ordered withdrawing security from the people who had provided heavy security by the government.
Chief Justice of Sindh High Court (SHC) remarked during the hearing that providing protection and security is the responsibility of the state.
The counsel of Bilawal Bhutto said,”We are not demanding security for every person.”
“Tell me, how many police personnel have been posted for security of Bilawal Bhutto?”, the chief justice asked from the lawyer. How many police officials have been posted outside the residence of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari today, the bench further asked.
Bilawal’s counsel replied, “Bilawal Bhutto’s security is not a provincial matter. It is responsibility of the centre”.
The bench asked, “What are the Supreme Court’s orders on security of those not having any government office?.
The bench, later adjourned the hearing till January 15.
