Clashes erupted between protesters and police officers in front of the Vatican, as demonstrators staged a rally against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's official visit to Rome on Monday. Erdogan has met with Pope Francis, and is expected to meet President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni during a two-day visit.
