PM Imran Khan to hold key meeting with Emir of Qatar

DOHA: Prime Minister Imran Khan will hold an important meeting with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani on Tuesday (today) to discuss LNG deal and review of the future prices of the fuel, ARY News reported.

The two sides have agreed over compliance of the LNG agreement but a review of prices could be discussed, sources said.

The two countries will also discuss the issue of supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from Qatar on upto US$ four billion delayed payment, and increase in trade volume, sources further said.

Pakistan will talk for a quota of 100,000 jobs for Pakistani nationals in upcoming FIFA World Cup, scheduled in Qatar in 2022.

According to sources, the two sides have also decided against making the reviewed prices public.

Pakistan’s prime minister met his Qatari counterpart Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani in Doha on Monday.

Maters of mutual interest, bilateral relations, economic cooperation and other issues were discussed in the meeting, said sources.

PM Imran Khan has been in Doha on a two-day official visit to Qatar.

Prime Minister Imran Khan was accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bokhari, Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan and others.

Besides meetings with Qatari leadership, PM Imran Khan will also meet businessmen and investors in Qatar.
