Four die in truck-car collision in Sheikhupura

SHEIKHUPURA: At least four people were killed and another injured when a speeding dump truck collided with a car on Lahore Road near Salim Kot on late Saturday night, ARY News reported.

Soon after the incident, concerned officials reached the spot of the accident and initiated rescue and relief operation.

All the dead and injured were shifted to nearby hospital.

According to the rescue sources, the collision between the truck and car occurred near Salim Kot, which left four people dead and one other wounded.

According to the preliminary reports, the cause of the fatal collision was rash driving. The deceased have been identified as Abdul Wahid, Tahir, Israr and Umar, who were residents of Manawala city of Sheikhupura District.

Road accidents are common in Pakistan mainly owing to poor infrastructure of road networks, dim or no street lights, violation of traffic rules, besides reckless and underage driving.
