1 killed, 2 injured in California shooting

California: A person died and two others were injured in a shootout at a California detox centre early on Monday.

Authorities were alerted about a shooting incident at the Helen Vine Detox Center in San Rafael at around 1:33 am (local time).

Sergeant Michael Brovelli, from the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, said that the police found three victims — two men and a woman, Fox News reported.

While one of the men succumbed to his injuries, the two others were rushed to a hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds. The condition of the two persons was not ascertained immediately.

Authorities said that the victims were identified as staff members of the California detox centre.
Meanwhile, a search operation has been launched to nab the shooter.

There has been a spurt in shooting incidents in the US in the last few days. Monday’s shootout was the third such instance in the past three weeks.

The latest incident comes after a gunman on November 2 killed two persons and wounded five others at a Florida hot yoga studio, before fatally turning the gun on himself.
