Asif Ali Zardari to hold public gathering in Khairpur today

NAWABSHAH: Former president and Co-Chairman, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari will visit Khairpur on Wednesday (today), ARY NEWS reported.

Asif Zardari to hold party huddle to review the current political situation of the country and also scheduled to address a public gathering in Faiz Ganj today, as he decided to get in touch with the people of Sindh.

Yesterday, the former president claimed no one gets into power without a deal, adding that incumbent Prime Minister Imran Khan too came to power after striking a deal.

While addressing a gathering of PPP workers in Nawabshah, Zardari said that efforts are underway to nab him, and claimed that his arrest would only increase his popularity. He said that, he could not be intimidated by any case.

Mr Zardari said he had no tussle with the incumbent government.The PPP is a democratic party and served the people of the country, he continued.

The former president has decided to enhance contacts with the people by keeping the current political scenario in view and said, he will embark on a visit to different districts of Sindh, including Sukkur and Nawabshah divisions.

Earlier on Monday, the former president had said he is observing that ‘some people’ are hatching a conspiracy against him. He said he would remain firm and face all the plots being designed against him.

“If providing jobs to the masses was his mistake, he would continue doing so,” he claimed.

The PPP leader was of the view that government officials and ministers were afraid of strict laws enacted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
