Hyderabad: With scorching sunlight, Sunday was recorded to be the hottest day so far in Hyderabad as the temperature reached 42-degree Celsius, which is more than the usual temperature during this part of the year.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that Adilabad recorded the highest temperature in the entire state with 44.3 degree Celsius, while Bhadrachalam recorded the lowest of all districts with 39.4 degree Celsius, says The News Minute report.
IMD further said that the temperature was rising due to the north-south wind discontinuity which runs from east Vidarbha to interior Tamil Nadu across Telangana. IMD Hyderabad scientist, Dr B Raja Rao told TNM: “In 2016, the number of heatwave days was 27, whereas in 2017 it reduced to 23. For 2018, the department has forecasted that the number of heatwave days will exceed 27.”
