LAHORE: With the political infighting seeming to cost Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) dear, party stalwart Dr Farooq Sattar on Sunday hinted at working out a formula to end the ongoing friction within the party and keep it united ahead of the upcoming general elections.
Speaking to the media at Lahore airport, Sattar expressed optimism that the issues facing the party will decrease ahead of the coming general elections.
Playing down defections from his party to the Mustafa Kamal-led Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP), Sattar said party leaders’ jumping the ship will not make any difference as voters are too clever.
He said the MQM-P will also contest 2018 elections from Punjab and will also field candidates from among workers.
Sattar said many political parties are in touch for forging an alliance ahead of the coming polls.
Referring to the infighting within the party, he said whatever has been going about in the party was unfortunate. He was making efforts to keep the party unified.
Commenting on the issues facing the people of Sindh, he said no attention has been paid to the problems plaguing Sindh for the last 70 years.
