Jodhpur: Father sacrifice 4-year-old daughter to ‘appease Allah during Ramzan’, arrested

JODHPUR: In an inhuman act, a father was arrested for allegedly sacrificing his daughter in order to please Allah in the holy month of Ramzan.

According to media reports, the incident took place in the Pipar City in Jodhpur district, Rajasthan on Thursday night when the accused identified as Nawab Ali Qureshi, his wife and two daughters had slept together on the roof of their house.

At midnight, Nawaz (26) had taken his four-year-old elder daughter Rizwana as she was very dear to him to their verandah and made her sit in his lap. He then recited Quranic verses before slitting her throat with a sharp-edged knife, according to the police.

When Rizwana’s mother Shabana started looking for her little daughter in the morning, she found her lifeless body in a pool of blood. The mother and the accused rushed her to the hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.

When grilled by the police, the accused confessed his crime that he sacrificed his beloved daughter to obtain Allah’s blessings during the ongoing holy month of Ramzan and that Satan had taken over him.

The accused has been arrested by the police for killing his minor daughter. Further probe underway.
