
KARACHI: A raid was carried out by the Sindh Food Authority where they found substandard sweets and confectionary items being prepared under Unhygienic conditions.
Three factories have been sealed on Saturday night in the city’s Korangi No. 2.5.
The southern province’s food regulatory authority in a surprise move set a raid in motion when they found sweets and confectionery items being prepared in unhygienic places and inside residential area.
The director of the Sindh Food Authority, Abrar Sheikh said that during the raid food items including mithai and ice cream were found being prepared in unhygienic conditions.
During the raid they also arrested three people involved in the situation, he added.
Sheikh also mentioned that their team will continue to conduct raids to catch illegal and unlicensed facilities that are producing unhealthy and unhygienic food items.
